OUR STORY
Welcome to a Unique Yoga Journey
Hi, Dana and Claudia here!
We met at a yoga studio in downtown Montreal back in 2018 looking for volunteer opportunities and bonded over our shared passion for yoga.
Since we were both family-oriented and spending time with children in our lives that have diverse & challenging needs, we were inspired to start an inclusive community project offering classes for kids to learn “adaptive yoga” and connect with others experiencing Autism Spectrum, ADHD and Associated Learning Difficulties.
Ultimately, the goal is to have an integrated environment with students from all backgrounds to share awareness and understanding of neurodiversity and vulnerable individuals with complex needs, promoting safer healing spaces for everyone born with special needs.
Our teaching style practices include Hatha, Vinyasa and Chair Yoga.
The month of April coincided with Autism Awareness/ Acceptance month: we embrace yoga classes that are meant to create a safe and playful space for healthy outlets so kids can express their energy and move freely in mindful ways. Most importantly, the different yoga styles and optional modifications are specialized to accept each child’s unique strengths, abilities and limits for encouraging practices to believe in their potential.
To honour all needs, this program offers at-home private and online lessons for students and families with limitations, making it more accessible. With the launch of Bee Unique Yoga, I’ve condensed all my favourite lessons for both little kids and big kids.
The best part? Your home probably already has all that’s needed to get started. Yoga is a simple practice guided step-by-step to get moving on the mat :)
For continuous growth, we intend to share blog posts and resources on Neurodiversity, health, nutrition, meditation and resilience skills within an adaptability framework.

As a yoga teacher, I’m passionate about the potential for transformation and healing, to face the traumas that arise from adverse childhood experiences, & “finding calm in the chaos.”
I started to practice yoga when I was 15 years old at a community centre introducing the movements and ending with a meditation that led to feeling better from the inside out. It helped to ease body image negativity and emotional rollercoasters that I struggled with at a time when there was a lack of support for different body types and gaps in understanding learning styles/ mental health in children.
Growing up, yoga has evolved naturally into a routine part of my life. Coping with the pains of autoimmune battles and health challenges, it became my alternative energy source.
I completed my 200 HR YTT with Yoga Space, 30 HR in kids teacher training with Little Lotus and gentle (chair) yoga in 2019. To continue blossoming as an educator and wellness advocate, I have been specializing recently in accessible practices for neurodivergent students and additional needs, using the wall and extra support. By promoting culturally-responsive tools to guide students into their yoga journey of self discovery, there are opportunities for greater levels of physical wellbeing and inner strength.
The body language we all share: emphasizing yoga’s inclusive philosophy that it is for all body types - There’s no 1 size fits all

Our mission is to foster a love of learning and connection through emotional awareness, compassion, relaxation, resilience and acceptance.
“Our goal is not to ‘heal’ the child, but to improve their quality of life and bring connection & joy whenever possible. When a person feels uplifted, healing occurs from inside of them […]
By shifting from ‘fixing’ to ‘connecting’ we allow them the safe space they need to discover the skill to achieve through their own efforts.”
